Rich Davies: Mental resilience in the face of catastrophe
For this first episode I'm joined by Rich Davies, entrepreneur and founder of the charity, Bowel Bro.
In this podcast, we discuss the idea of mental resilience, in life, business, and specifically in the face of catastrophe. Rich explains how his past experiences and stoicism have helped him cope with the unthinkable situation he's found himself in, at the age of just 36.
A few months ago Rich was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel cancer, and given 3-6 months to live.
After the extreme, Hail-Mary "Mother Of All Surgeries" was presented as an opportunity to potentially save his life, Rich embarked on multiple rounds of the 4 most poisonous chemotherapy drugs available to try and shrink his tumours, hopefully making him eligible for the surgery.
Rich talks us through his journey, the lessons learnt, and the legacy he wants to leave behind.
